Sameena has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from M.S. University, Baroda. She is in the final phase of submitting her doctoral thesis (gifted identification, self-concept, academic achievement). Sameena has worked extensively with children (ages 8 years and above) in the areas of social skills, behavioural challenges, and high emotional sensitivity and intensity. Having worked in the school system, she is familiar with challenges related to academics, particularly underachievement in children and adolescents. She has about 15 years of experience in supporting the needs of those who are intellectually gifted through small group activities, individual counselling and guidance for parents. In 2009, she initiated an idea of a gifted program in schools and has designed and enabled several programs and services for gifted children and their families since then.  Sameena believes in garnering community support for mental health and well-being and has facilitated parent support groups as well as peer mentor programs for children and adolescents in schools.

Outside of work, Sameena is an adventure enthusiast. She loves the outdoors and enjoys trekking and solo travelling. She volunteers as a board of director for Adventures Beyond Barriers, a not-for profit that works with people with disabilities. She believes music is the balm for all wounds and has been learning  Hindustani Classical Music for a few years.

• Attended the Play-Family Therapy Training- A mindful approach certificate course by Family and Play Therapy Center, 2020
• Completed the GenDerations Facilitator Training by Stefan Hermann, founder GenDerations Mentoring, 2018
• Advanced course in counselling the gifted, Mensa India Pune Chapter, 2015
