Jui has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana, U.S.A. Additionally, she has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Maharaja SayajiRao University, Baroda, Gujarat, India. . Her work has extended to different contexts and positions from a mental health specialist with Medecins sans Frontiers (MSF) from Papua New Guinea to Iraq, as an Assistant Professor with Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts (SSLA) and Middle East Technical University (METU), Northern Cyprus Campus. Jui likes to have one foot in academia and teaching and so continues to teach as a visiting faculty at Savitribai Phule University, Pune and is on the editorial board of the Journal for Social Action in Counseling and Psychology (JSACP),

As a counseling psychologist, Jui appreciates the value of working from a systems perspective. Such a perspective allows her to draw on larger cultural and social contexts so as to acknowledge and value the different realms within which people exist, i.e., familial, social, cultural, religious, and economic. Thus, her clinical work draws from structural family therapy, interpersonal and Gestalt approaches. Jui strongly believes and values the need to provide a therapeutic relationship that allows the client to develop his/her own adaptive patterns. She have been fortunate to work in diverse settings such as in hospitals and centers in India and in international settings. In each of these settings, she worked with people fromdifferent ethnic, cultural, economic and social backgrounds, presenting with a range of mental health issues. Working with diverse clients often required her to expand her role from a therapist to that of a consultant, an advocate, and/or a facilitator. Jui continues to embrace the need for her  role as a therapist to include broader contexts that impact her clients.Further, as a clinician Jui also enjoys the supervision of other mental health professionals in their own development as therapists. Using a multicultural and an interpersonal approach in the supervisory relationship, she values a strong collaborative relationship where the supervisee is able to grow and develop his/her own framework for counselling. Otherwise,  Jui is notorious for her steady, extra-cautious driving through Pune’s traffic (much to the chargin of her family and friends!!
