What We Do
A psychotherapeutic session typically is held once a week for about 50 to 60 minutes where both the person and psychotherapist are actively involved in working towards mutually agreed upon goals.
What is Psychotherapy ?
“Psychotherapy is the informed and intentional application of clinical methods and interpersonal stances derived from established psychological principles for the purpose of assisting people to modify their behaviours, cognitions, emotions, and/or other personal characteristics in directions that the participants deem desirable” (Norcross, 1990, p. 218-220 ).
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process of talking with a trained professional (who has a Master’s or higher degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology), for the intended purpose of experiencing growth, balance and enhancing one’s quality of life. The interaction and interpersonal processes within psychotherapy helps people gain insight, rediscover aspects of themselves, find support for their struggles, and find alternative perspectives for their experiences.
A psychotherapeutic session typically is held once a week for about 60 minutes, where both the person and psychotherapist are actively involved in working towards mutually agreed upon goals. The environment of the sessions is confidential, safe and respectful.
